As a Grade 9 student at Einstein School Cebu, I had been eagerly awaiting our prom night, the Enchanted Elegance Promenade 2024 at Dusit Thani Mactan. Prom is one of those milestone events that marks a significant step in our high school journey. For many of us, it’s a night to dress up, dance, and make lasting memories with friends. The venue was beautifully decorated to fit our Enchanted Elegance theme, with twinkling fairy lights and elegant floral arrangements creating a fairy-tale atmosphere. The ballroom was spacious, allowing plenty of room for dancing and mingling.
Tip: If you have the opportunity, visit the venue beforehand. Familiarizing yourself with the location can help ease any nerves you might have about the event.
Making an Entrance
Making an entrance at prom is a special moment. Arriving with my friends, we were greeted by a flurry of cameras and compliments. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as everyone showed off their stunning outfits. Walking into the ballroom, I felt a mix of nervousness and exhilaration, ready to embrace the night ahead.

Watching my peers receive recognition for their contributions to the school was heartwarming and added to the night’s sense of unity and celebration.

My mom took a photo with me and my baby sister before the event, as parents were not allowed inside the ballroom. My parents patiently waited outside. I took selfies and group photos to cherish and look back on in the years to come.
Tip: Take lots of photos! Years from now, you’ll want to look back and remember the fun you had. Don’t forget to take some candid shots too – sometimes the unplanned photos are the best.
Prom Awards
Towards the end of the evening, prom awards were given out. Categories included Best Dressed, Prom King and Queen, and Prom Prince and Princess. Luckily, my best friend Leona was chosen as the Prom Princess. Congrats, girl! It was exciting to see my friends win and be recognized for their efforts. The crowning of the Prom King and Queen was a highlight, adding a traditional touch to the evening.
The After-Party
After the official prom ended, we changed our outfits, and I went home with my parents. Some of my classmates stayed at Dusit Thani because they had checked in. Unlike my classmates’ families, we did not stay there because my brother had an early morning class the next day that he needed to attend.
